They profoundly believed friendship will never be replaced by love, of cause including se* with loving. For some people, the most positive attitude is platonic love, a love that is not se*ual. For another, the highest form of affection is based on harmonization of se* and affection. They think that none of the two is dispensable, they are equally important.
Obviously, the attitude varies from person to person and it is influential in reaching a decision. All shall be well, and Jack shall have Jill. As we can see, after having e*perienced several relationship failures, Harry and Sally fall in love with each other. Fate is a funny thing sometimes. The amount off invested does not guaranteed you reciprocation. Such the wonderful fate makes them realize that happiness is in the side. They spend 12 years just for getting acquaintance and finally believe their god-sent marriage.
