Hugo said that people lack willpower rather than strength. So perseverance is also an important quality we can’t afford to lose. So many people fail to make their dreams come true because they give up too easily.
Marie Curie said that human beings must have patience and especially confidence. She never lost her confidence and perseverance. She devoted herself to science and eventually discovered radium. It is clear, then, that confidence and perseverance are two things we simply cannot do without.
Underlying everything else, however, is hope. Hope is behind all those aspects of human endeavor which sustain us in difficult times. As for me, last year, I joined an important competition with my friends. We prepared it for a long time. But two days before the competition, our computer broke down and all our material disappeared. We were so an*ious that we were almost in tears. At that time, the words Andy said in The Shawshank Redemption came to our minds “remember hope is good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.” Finally because of the hope, we didnt give up, completed the competition and got the second place.
